Description

This micro-certificate is designed to prepare job ready individuals for entry-level manufacturing opportunities in the manufacturing sector. It is comprised of six modules which cover both technical manufacturing skills and certifications and employment supports. 

Career Opportunities

Completion of this micro-certificate prepares participants for entry level job opportunities within the manufacturing sector. Positions may include production worker, assembly worker or general labour. 

Program Learning Outcomes

The graduate has reliably demonstrated the ability to:

  1. follow health and safety procedures in the regulated workplace;
  2. determine mathematical solutions to problems in a manufacturing environment to complete assigned tasks;
  3. apply job search skills to secure employment in the manufacturing sector;
  4. discuss factors that contribute to employee success in the workplace in relation professional career goals;
  5. identify and mitigate stressors that impact employee success in the workplace;
  6. communicate competently with diverse groups in the workplace in order to build relationships and support productivity.

Admission Requirements

Participants will be assessed for appropriateness and eligibility to participate by Employment Ontario Employment Services staff. 

Selection Process

Evaluation of work experience, skills, previous education and training and personal/environmental factors to determine suitability for program. 

Graduation Requirements

Completion of all 6 micro-certificate modules.

Graduation Window

Students registered in part-time studies programs must maintain continuous registration in order to complete the program according to the curriculum in place at the time they were admitted. Students who do not remain continuously registered must be readmitted to the program and follow the new curriculum.
